Located on the east edge of downtown’s Stadium District, Mort’s is a nod to Irish pubs with a distinctly Michigan flair that provides a cozy refuge for live music enthusiasts and anyone that enjoys a properly poured Guinness.

The bar comprises two distinct halves; visitors are greeted by a friendly dining room and small stage for live music upon entering on the east side of the bar, and will find a wall of dartboards and a few cozy booths on the west side, where regulars and newcomers alike test their aim, especially during Friday dart tournaments.

The friendly vibe is backed up by a diverse weekly lineup: Jazz Tuesdays, feature a guest Jazz musician backed by Jeff Shoup’s rotating cast of house band members, followed by a lively music session with audience members stepping on stage to improvise and jam. On Wednesday’s, Jen Sygit hosts a lively Open Mic Night; Thursday is DJ Trivia night, and on weekends a host of live bands take take the stage.

But it’s not just the entertainment that draws the crowds. Moriarty’s full menu and inventive daily soup specials offers a variety of delicious and affordable options, perfect for chilly winter evenings. The menu includes an Olive burger, as well as weekend specials. The bar stocks a modest selection of non-alcoholic beers, alongside the standard Irish-pub staples of correctly poured Guinness and a full cocktail menu.
