Open Mic Night with Jen Sygit is a celebrated event in the Lansing area, showcasing the talents of both local and visiting artists. Jen Sygit, a highly regarded singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist in the Michigan music scene, has been a prominent figure in East Lansing’s folk and Americana circles. Her musical journey is marked by early involvements in various bands and significant contributions to the local music scene since moving to East Lansing in 1999.
Known for her versatility and engaging presence, Sygit has hosted Open Mic nights at various venues, including Elderly Instruments and Dagwood’s Tavern, and now Moriarty’s. Her Open Mic nights provide a platform for musicians of all levels to perform and share their art with a positive and appreciative audience interested in nurturing and sustaining the vibrant music community in the Lansing area.
