Pop Evil is an American rock band that was formed in North Muskegon, Michigan, in 2001. They are known for their hard rock music style and energetic live performances. Their discography includes several albums and hits like “Waking Lions” and “Footsteps,” showcasing their range from hard rock to alternative metal. The band has built a strong fan base over the years with their dynamic sound and powerful lyrics, contributing significantly to the modern rock scene.
Pop Evil supported Judas Priest on the British Steel 30th Anniversary North American tour alongside Whitesnake in July and August 2009, which highlighted their rising prominence in the rock scene. They have a history of engaging directly with their fans, such as when they let their fans choose their next single in July 2009, ultimately selecting “Breathe” as the new single.
Pop Evil’s discography includes the album “War of Angels,” released after a tumultuous period of delays and label changes, ultimately coming out in July 2011 under eOne Music. The album “War of Angels” is notable for its reflection on the theme of struggling to leave one’s past behind and features hits like “Last Man Standing” and “Monster You Made.” Throughout 2011, Pop Evil toured extensively, sharing stages with bands like Drowning Pool, Trust Company, Anew Revolution, Papa Roach, Finger Eleven, Escape the Fate, 3 Doors Down, and Theory of a Deadman, showcasing their enduring appeal and dynamic live performances.
Their third studio album, “Onyx,” recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K, saw Pop Evil achieving their first national #1 single on Rock Radio with “Trenches” in June 2013. This accomplishment was further solidified by winning the Radio Contraband Rock Radio Award for “Song of the Year” for “Trenches” in 2013.
The band’s evolution continued with the release of their fourth studio album, “Up,” in 2015, and they went on to celebrate significant moments, such as the declaration of the album’s release date as “Pop Evil Day” in Grand Rapids by the city’s mayor. Pop Evil’s commitment to their music and fans was evident as they embarked on their first Australian tour in March 2019, and continued to perform and connect with audiences globally
