Mike Daniels was the frontman and guitarist for the Blue Avenue Delegates, a band renowned for their 20-plus-year run of Monday night performances at Lansing’s Green Door Lounge and for opening for Ray Charles at MSU’s Wharton Center.
Mike also founded the dance band “Smooth Daddy” in the 1990s, which remains active. At Lansing Community College, he’s been a faculty member for nearly 20 years, teaching drum lessons, Band Management, and the Business of Music, and plays in the faculty jazz band, Layers. He’s also the organizer of La Batterie, a drumming event that has grown from a small gathering to a significant annual showcase.
