Kevin Brewster is a rising jazz musician known for his talent as a saxophonist. His musical journey was influenced by his early exposure to gospel, R&B, and soul music, leading him to start playing the saxophone at the age of 11. Brewster’s passion for music was nurtured through his involvement in church music and his education at Michigan State University, where he is pursuing Jazz Studies. He has performed with his group, the Black Renaissance with Kevin Brewster, at various local events in Grand Rapids, showcasing his blend of jazz, gospel, and R&B.
Brewster’s ambitions extend beyond performance; he aims to further his education with a master’s in jazz performance, aspire to become a recording artist, and eventually teach jazz saxophone at the college level. His participation in the Summer Jazz Series in Grand Rapids is a testament to his growing influence in the jazz community, demonstrating his commitment to making jazz accessible and enriching the local music scene.
