About this site

LoveLansing.com is a personal hobby, intended to highlight some of the great events happening in the heart of Lansing, Michigan. My hope is to make it easier for friends, neighbors and guests to discover and take pride in the great live music, food, and culture that exists in our often underrated and frequently overlooked Capitol city.

This site is not profit-driven, it is an independent solo act; it is not a business and does not contain advertising, affiliate links, sponsors, or official connections to Lansing City Government or other promotional organizations.

This site is not intended to be comprehensive; it is a curated collection of what’s happening, focused primarily on the entertainment districts: Michigan Avenue and Downtown, REO Town and Old Town. Generally, I will feature live music, night life, and weekend events, prioritizing people and places that contribute to Lansing’s Arts and Entertainment culture.

Unique and interesting events happening nearby, such as the Nordic Fire Festival that takes place every February in Eaton County, may be included, but it is not my intent to focus on happenings outside of Lansing city limits at this time.

Typically I will be avoiding events in East Lansing, including broadway plays at Wharton, and other events on and around campus, simply to limit the scope of this site and reduce the time and effort required to maintain trustworthy listings here.

I also utilize ChatGPT to create rough drafts of written content. For venue descriptions, band biographies, and upcoming events I use ChatGPT to perform research and create a rough draft, which I then edit and fact check before posting.

For articles and write-ups about events that have happened, I provide ChatGPT with details of my experience of the event and use the service generate a rough draft and perform additional supplemental research, which I then fact check and liberally edit for content and style before posting.

I do not post articles about, nor will I use AI to generate content about past events that I have not attended or experienced. I also do not use AI to generate any images, graphics or materials beyond what is described here. All photography is my own or has been made available by the artist or venue for promotional purposes.

If you feel I’m missing a venue, event, or are trying to make something awesome happen in Lansing, contact me at lansingcats@gmail.com and lets collaborate.
